Jumping School, The snip and sales!

Good afternoon, I hope you’re all well.
It’s been a busy week on both the personal and professional fronts.
A Personal Note
The week began with something far more important than racing: my wife underwent a major operation. It’s a sensitive matter, so I won’t go into details, but I’m relieved to say it was a success. She’s now back home and recovering, and we’re hoping that continues smoothly.
Ellie & Freya – Jumping School Week
Two of our fillies, Just Passing Bye (Ellie) and Silverhill Freya (Freya), headed over to Marcus Foley for jumping school — and both have come out of it with glowing reports.
Freya
Freya already had the benefit of jumping fences in her PTPs, so this was more of a refresher. She’s taken everything in her stride and is due to arrive at Tom Lacey’s tomorrow (Monday) to begin her preparation for a novice hurdle campaign.

Ellie
Ellie arrived with no jumping experience at all, so she had the full intensive course. Her first time through the loose school left her a little bewildered, but she showed she had a natural jump — exactly what we hoped to see.
Fast‑forward just two days and the improvement was exceptional. She’s quick through the air, clever, and really starting to understand her job. She heads to Fergal O’Brien’s Ravenswell Farm on Tuesday, and the pre‑trainers couldn’t be happier with her.
Ellie will start in bumpers this season and is GBB 100% registered, which we’ll be targeting.

Stud & Bloodstock Updates
Paul – Our Logician Colt
We caught up with Carla at Charlock Stud midweek to check in on Paul. He’s in fantastic shape and Carla is delighted with his physical development. We discussed the plan for him to be gelded — almost certainly within the next two months — before he heads to D&K Racing to begin his education.
Tattersalls August Sale
We also spoke with Jerry McGrath, our bloodstock agent. The Tattersalls August Sale is next week and there are plenty of interesting pages in the catalogue. My initial shortlist of 32 has now been whittled down, and we’re looking forward to Jerry’s inspection feedback early next week.
Yearlings – Emma & Pam
Our two yearling fillies, Emma and Pam, continue to develop remarkably. They look a million dollars — physically strong, balanced, and really coming into their own. Their bond is something special; they’re inseparable, and wherever one goes, the other isn’t far behind.
