Bloodstock Agent comments
Jerry McGrath - "Lot 31A from Goff's February sale is a yearling colt by logician out of the very, very talented Mare J’Y Vole. She had a career high of 161, and was a proper grade one performer. A household name really and obviously when you see her as a dam, you're always going to follow her progeny with a lot of care.
As we speak, she's two winners from four runners. Her last winner came at Wetherby last week in a junior hurdle, trained by Jamie Snowden, which was impressive. So, she's a horse that's still producing winners.
She's a very talented mare and this yearling himself, he's a tall February foal, still a lot of developing to do. He's what I would call a lighter bone at the moment, but that will naturally come with good rearing. He should be a lovely racing prospect in two to three years time and with a pedigree like that anything can happen.
As well as being out of a very good race mare, he comes from a very, very deep pedigree as well from the family of Life In The Park, Lifetime Ambition & My Sister Sarah. It's a proper, proper national hunt pedigree and obviously there's a lot of French influence there too and that is very popular these days. J’Y Vole herself was by Mansonnien, which is a good broodmare sire.
She's a mare that we follow, but this lad was definitely a colt that we were keen to get our hands on and he, in my opinion, seemed extremely good value".
