End of the season

Well, another National Hunt season has come to its conclusion, marking the end of a thrilling chapter in the world of horse racing. Congratulations to both Dan Skelton and Sean Bowen for their remarkable achievements in winning their respective titles. Their hard work, dedication, and skill have truly shone throughout the season, showcasing the best of what National Hunt racing has to offer. This season has been nothing short of eventful, characterized by a series of unexpected developments and exhilarating moments that kept fans and participants alike on the edge of their seats. From the early races to the grand finales, each event brought with it a unique set of challenges and triumphs, making it a thoroughly enjoyable experience for everyone involved. We witnessed some truly spectacular performances from a variety of horses, each displaying their own unique talents and strengths. The matchups this season have also been noteworthy, with some thrilling head-to-head contests that will be remembered for years to come. Each race not only highlighted the skills of the jockeys and trainers but also showcased the incredible athleticism and spirit of the horses themselves. As we reflect on the season, we invite you to share your favorite moments with us. Was there a particular race that stood out to you? Perhaps a stunning upset or a nail-biting finish? For me, the standout moment has to be when I Am Maximus emulated the legendary Red Rum by regaining the Grand National title. This incredible feat has to be right up there among the highlights of the season, as it not only pays homage to the greats of the past but also signifies the enduring spirit of competition in the sport. As we look forward to the next season, we can't help but feel excited about what lies ahead. The anticipation of new talents emerging, seasoned competitors returning, and the ever-present unpredictability of horse racing ensures that we will continue to be captivated by this extraordinary sport.

It was farrier week at Charlock stud for our 3 yearlings they were all really well behaved, I was very impressed with "Paul" keeping his cool over the Clarkson's Farm chatter (see video below)!

They will be visited every 4-6 weeks depending on their individual needs. Carla also sent over a video of "Emma" and "Pam" which is lovely, they really are best friends!

In Lambourn, our 3-year-old filly affectionately known as "Ellie" has been enjoying a much-deserved rest this week, and we’re thrilled to share that she’s thriving for her downtime! This break has been absolutely crucial for her recovery and rejuvenation, vital for her overall well-being and future performance. We’ve been keeping a close eye on her progress, and everything is looking fantastic. Ellie is set to return to work shortly! Our training plan for her is meticulously on track, and we’re genuinely excited about her development as an athlete. Looking ahead, Ellie is gearing up to move to the prestigious Fergal O'Brien's yard later this year. Bumpers or junior hurdles are the plan around October or November all being well. The anticipation for her future races is electric, as we firmly believe that with continued dedication and the training plan we have, Ellie has the potential to excel on the track. We can’t wait to witness her progress and are incredibly optimistic about what the future holds for this promising equine athlete! You can be part of her journey - get in touch to secure your share!

I'm hoping to get around the yards in the coming week as the ankle is now well enough, I hope you are looking forward to my dodgy photography skills!

Until next time!
